IRLamp6
IRLamp6 is an incredibly bright
IR source for field use. It offers 40 high performance IR LEDs in a specially
designed heat sink case. At less than three inches in diameter, the lamp
takes up very little room in a backpack.
A dramatic improvement on our
IRLamp3 Array, we have use a totally machined
case to improve both the ruggedness and manufacturability of these lights.
This case also offers better heat sinking capability so can run these
brighter than our original IRLamp3 design. Otherwise the design is much
the same as our original IRLamp3.
Design elements of IRLamp6
arrays:
- Compact and field rugged
- Completely solid state,
no filaments to burn out
- Efficient use of battery
power, puts far more of the energy into light, waste as little as possible
so you carry a smaller battery
- Produces bright light with
a beam angle suited to most video cameras
- The wavelength of the light
is just long enough to not be visually disturbing to most wildlife,
but short enough to fall within the sensitivity of most video cameras
- Input voltage designed to
use common and easily charged 12V sealed lead-acid batteries or vehicle
power systems
- An under voltage lockout
circuit turns off the lamp when the battery is exhausted, avoiding over-discharge
of the battery
- Mounted with a common 1/4"-20
thread standard on photographic tripods
- Supplied hot shoe adaptor
allows the lamp to be mounted atop many video cameras
- Available in 20 degree (standard)
as well as 12 and 40 degree beam widths.
The IRLamp6 is the latest result
of years of development and field experience videotaping wildlife in southern
Arizona.
